ROOF REPLACEMENTS

“Know your Roofing Contractor”

Given the cost to replace a roof with Colorbond, it’s a big decision for any homeowner. You would want to ensure the contractor is very good at what they do. It’s also a bonus if they’re a friendly bunch of guys willing to go that extra mile not only in terms of their quality of work but also cleaning up after themselves and providing a positive experience. We at MRR do exactly that. Once we’re finished, you will never have to worry about your roof ever again. Every time you come home you will admire our workmanship and remember the positive experience we provided – this is our promise.

How we go about replacing your roof with Colorbond

Roof Replacements are a big job for us, but it isn’t for every contractor. All the work is in the framing and preparation; it’s easy to simply lay new Colorbond sheets. If we’re replacing an existing corrugated roof, we want to ensure the batten spacing complies and the roof is adequately tied down; just because it has not blown off in the past is not a reliable indicator it may not in the future. To tie down a roof is simple; 1mm hoop iron over the trusses/rafters at the external wall top plates and at the ridge/hip rafters with 40mm tech screws; simple but not everyone does it. If there are visible signs of a wave in the roof, implying the structure has moved over the years, the only time to address this is when the roof is stripped and before the new roof is laid. When a roof has that wave effect, we simply run a string line over the surface and pack out the rafters with structural timber; again it’s easy but not every contactor is willing to do it. At MRR, we do it right or we don’t do it at all.

It’s all in the details; avoid comparing apples with oranges

Another important factor to consider when comparing quotes is what materials are being used and where are they coming from. Chinese steel, non Colorbond products, little or no insulation and how do you know? In our quotes we detail exactly what products we use and discuss with you where they’re coming from. I’ve spent years refining the products we use to ensure they are the best. For example our gutter guard products come from northern Queensland, because it is the best. There are a few things here at MRR we insist upon you agreeing with us we use. They are Colorbond and only Colorbond products and a minimum 60mm insulation blanket under the roof sheets. We can customise the type of roofing materials to cater for your tastes or you can lets us experts decide on a design that best suits the appearance of your home. We are also handy in helping you decide on a colour scheme.

Testimonials

An outstanding tile to colorbond conversion done by the team for us in the Bentleigh area. Honest and quality professionals, I would recommend highly.

Adam and his crew replaced over 500m2 of a challenging curved roofline with care and precision. Trustworthy, honest and intelligent, Adam made the process run smoothly

Adam and team did an amazing job on our roof in April. we had our tiled roof removed and colour bond re-fit, attention to detail was excellent from start to finish. Adam clearly explained how the job would be undertaken and returned 2 weeks after completion to ensure we were happy. We would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Adam and his team did a wonderful job converting this tired old leaky tile roof to and beautiful (and well insulated) colourbond roof, complete with larger gutters, colour matched leaf guard and down pipes. Bloody marvellous!
